Dimitris Gourdoukis will present at the 2018 Generative Art Conference that will take place at the Museo di Storia Naturale in Verona, Italy at the 18th of December. The lecture, under the title “Against the Standards: Generative Architectural Details“, will attempt to re-imagine the concept of the ‘architectural detail’ in the current condition. The architectural detail, deemed as almost irrelevant by the first wave of architects that experimented with digital tools, might be understood again as an opportunity for architecture to overcome the excessive standardization imposed on the architectural process by contemporary digital design tools. The presentation will also display research results from courses taught at the post-graduate program ‘Advanced Design’ at the School of Architecture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
