The subject of the thesis is the creation of a series of ephemeral interventions in the outdoor venues of the historical spaces of Aristotelous Square and the 1st pier of the port of Thessaloniki aiming to upgrade the cinematic experience within the framework of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. The manifest of the project is to highlight the lasting impact of transience through cinema and ephemeral architecture. The composition of the outdoor spatial structures for the TIFF was based on the content of the festival posters, with the aim to contribute to the correlation of the venue’s image with the festival organization. The design proposal is based on the walkthrough of the outdoor spaces that host the screening rooms of the festival and the alternation of visitors’ perspectives. Outdoor and indoor spaces are created that provide visitors with the opportunity to meet, network, exchange views, rest, be informed, have fun, reflect. The installations are divided into four categories: light, shade, rest and information, in order to form an holistic proposal to upgrade the festival to a cultural hub of gathering, events, concerts and various activities.
